293rd Judicial District Judge Maribel Flores is preparing for the seventh annual Trick-or-Treat event, continuing a Halloween tradition that began during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Maverick County Lake.
What began in 2020 as a small, socially distanced celebration has grown into a popular community tradition. Flores and her daughter, Madison, organized the first event to give children a chance to enjoy Halloween and experience a sense of normalcy during an uncertain time.
The annual gathering has continued in the years since, bringing families together for a seasonal celebration.
This year’s event marks the seventh time Flores and her team have organized it.
The 293rd Judicial District serves Dimmit, Maverick and Zavala counties. The public is invited to attend the Halloween event at the lake.
