The Maverick County Elections Department is reminding residents that Monday, October 5, 2026 is the final day to register to vote in the November 3 General Election as preparations continue for early voting this month during October 19-30.
The Texas Secretary of State’s Office issued a statewide reminder confirming that eligible Texans must register by October 5, 2026 if they want to participate in the upcoming election. The deadline was extended to Monday because the normal 30-day registration deadline falls on Sunday, October 4.
For Maverick County residents, the approaching deadline marks another important step toward an election that will include federal and state races along with several closely watched county and local contests.
The Maverick County Elections Department lists October 5 as the last day to register, followed by the beginning of early voting on October 19.
Residents who are already registered are also encouraged to verify that their voter registration information is accurate and up to date.
To register in Texas, a person must be a United States citizen, reside in the county where the application is submitted and be at least 18 years old by Election Day. Registration applications sent by mail must be properly postmarked by the October 5 deadline.
Voters can also check their registration status through the Texas Secretary of State’s voter portal. The Maverick County Elections Department provides voter registration information and election materials through its official county elections website.
Early voting in Maverick County will begin Monday, October 19, and continue through Friday, October 30, at the Multi-Purpose Center located at 480 S. Adams Street in Eagle Pass.
Voting hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 19 through October 23. The polls will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 24, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 25.
During the final week of early voting, from October 26 through October 30, voters will be able to cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, when polling locations throughout Maverick County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters casting ballots on Election Day must vote at the polling location assigned to their precinct.
With the registration deadline now approaching, residents who have not registered but intend to participate in the November election have only a few days remaining to complete the process.
