Southwest Texas College at Eagle Pass to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month With “Sigan Luchando” Event

Southwest Texas College will celebrate Hispanic HeritageMonth with an afternoon of culture, tradition and community during its upcoming “Sigan Luchando” event at the Eagle Pass campus.
The celebration is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, from noon to 2 p.m. at The Cowboy Corner on the SWTX Eagle Pass Campus.The event will feature Lotería, prizes, colorful conchas and refreshing aguas frescas as students and the college community come together to recognize Hispanic culture and heritage.
“Sigan Luchando,” which translates to “Keep Fighting,” brings a message of perseverance while celebrating traditions familiar to generations of Hispanic families.
Lotería, one of the activities planned for the afternoon, remains a popular part of Mexican and Hispanic culture and has long brought families and communities together through the traditional game.
The celebration will also showcase familiar flavors and colorful elements of Hispanic culture, including traditional Mexican sweet bread and aguas frescas.
Southwest Texas College is inviting students and members of the campus community to participate in the celebration and enjoy an afternoon highlighting culture, tradition and community spirit.
The “Sigan Luchando” Hispanic Heritage celebration will take place Thursday, October 8, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at The Cowboy Corner at the Southwest Texas College Eagle Pass Campus.
