Eagle Pass High School Eagles Secure Football Post-Season Playoff Spot

The Eagle Pass High School Eagles varsity football team secured a berth in the 2026 Texas Class 6A Division II playoffs, according to an announcement celebrating the Eagles and their coaching staff.
The announcement congratulated the team on earning a postseason appearance and informed supporters that playoff game information would be released once available.
The Eagles entered the final week of the regular season with a 4-5 overall record and a 3-3 mark in District 30-6A. Eagle Pass is scheduled to host the Del Rio Rams on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. in its regular-season finale.
The Eagles final regular season game against the Del Rio Rams is the main rivalry game of the year between the two border communities stretching over 100 years ago.
The Eagles strengthened its postseason push with consecutive victories over Laredo United South and San Antonio Southwest Legacy. The Eagles edged United South 31-30 before defeating Southwest Legacy 34-28, winning both games by a combined seven points.
Those victories followed a stretch in which Eagle Pass won two of its first seven games. The Eagles opened the season with a 42-20 victory over crosstown rival C.C. Winn, while their other district victory came against San Antonio Southwest, 19-14.
The late-season improvement helped put the Eagles in position to extend their season and gave the team momentum heading into its final regular-season contest.
Under University Interscholastic League rules, the top four teams from each Class 6A district advance to the postseason. The two qualifying schools with the largest enrollments compete in Division I, while the remaining two enter Division II.
The announcement recognized the Eagles’ players and coaching staff for the accomplishment as the team prepared for postseason competition.
