Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11 to honor all who served in the United States military during wartime or peacetime. Originally known as Armistice Day, the observance commemorated the end of fighting in World War I on November 11, 1918. It became Veterans Day in 1954, expanding its recognition to American veterans of all wars. This year, the holiday falls on Wednesday.
Saturday’s celebration gave Eagle Pass residents an opportunity to express their appreciation directly to local veterans and recognize the contributions they continue to make throughout the community.
