The City of Eagle Pass and local veterans organizations will host a Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 10 a.m. in downtown Eagle Pass to honor the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces. A proclamation ceremony will follow in front of the public library.
The celebration will recognize the courage, dedication and sacrifices of military veterans, including the more than 1,600 who call the local community home.
Residents are encouraged to attend the parade and ceremony as an expression of gratitude for those who served. The gathering will give families, friends and neighbors an opportunity to recognize veterans together and reflect on their contributions to the nation.
While Veterans Day is observed nationally on November 11, the Saturday celebration will provide an opportunity for Eagle Pass and Maverick County residents to come together ahead of the holiday.
For many veterans, military service meant long separations from loved ones, demanding assignments and personal sacrifices. Honoring their service also means recognizing the families who supported them throughout those experiences.
Their contributions continued after military service as they returned home, raised families, entered the workforce and became involved in local organizations. Veterans remain an important part of Maverick County’s civic life, carrying their commitment to service into the community.
The observance also offers younger generations an opportunity to learn about military service and better understand the sacrifices made to defend the freedoms they enjoy.
Beyond the parade and ceremony, Veterans Day serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting veterans throughout the year. Listening to their experiences, recognizing their needs and helping them obtain assistance are meaningful ways to demonstrate that appreciation.
The November 7 celebration will honor that lasting commitment to country while giving the community an opportunity to thank its veterans for their service.
