The Eagle Pass C.C. Winn High School Mavericks varsity football team will face the Boerne Champion High School Chargers in the opening round of the Class 5A Division I state playoffs on Friday, November 13, 2026 at 7 p.m. at Boerne ISD Stadium in Boerne, Texas.

The Mavericks finished the regular season with a 4–6 overall record and a 4–3 district record after falling to the San Antonio Southside Cardinals, 22–10, on Friday, November 6. Despite the loss, Winn had already secured a postseason playoff berth.

Under head coach Rene Ramirez and his coaching staff, the Mavericks put together three consecutive victories before their regular-season finale, defeating San Antonio Jay, 27–7, South San Antonio, 35–28, and Laredo Nixon, 30–6. Those victories helped Winn secure its place in the playoffs.

Southside ended that winning streak Friday, sending the Mavericks into the postseason looking to regroup against a Boerne Champion team that finished the regular season with a 9–1 record.

The bi-district matchup will give Winn an opportunity to extend its season and advance to the area round. The Mavericks will travel to Boerne seeking a road victory against the Chargers as they begin their postseason run.
